The Bands:

We’re psyched to be playing the Seattle stop of the annual International Pop Overthrow on August 18th at El Corazon!  Come check out a ton of great rock/pop/powerpop bands at this internationally travelling festival while it’s here.  We’re headlining the first of the 4 nights at 11:00pm and playing as long as we damned well feel like.  Hope to see you there!

We’re playing the new Scarlet Tree on 65th (under I-5) on July 30th with Van Eps.  If you haven’t been to the Scarlet Tree ever (or since the old one closed) it’s back with a vengence!  2 open levels, great food and a super fun place to see music.  Come check us out…we’ll be road testing some new songs and we’d love to hear what you think!

We’re playing for a great cause on the 17th!  Come see us rock the party and participate in a silent auction to benefit Vision House and NoHomelessKids.  See the link to the Facebook event for it below and come support a great cause!

We’re confirmed for Saturday April 24th at Renton’s famous Irish pub A Terrible Beauty.  What’s better than listening to top-shelf Seattle rawk while eating shepherd’s pie?  Nothing.  That’s what.

Thanks to superfan #99 Ben Longcor, we were just played on 94.7FM “Alternative Portland!”  Ben called in and got onto their “Perfect Playlist” program and got to play and comment on his top 5 songs.  Song number 1 was our very own Disarray.  Thanks again Ben!!

Thanks to Christine Scott, I got to tour the KEXP radio station today.  We got to meet Cheryl Waters who does the midday show and watch her work which was very cool.  I dropped a CD & Press kit off with her and with Don Slack (music director) so keep your fingers crossed.  Hopefully you’ll hear us soon on 90.3FM Seattle!

We had a GREAT show at Nectar Lounge on the 23rd!  Check out the video below for a taste.  We’ve got multiple camera feeds, pro audio recording of the show and professional stills on the way which we’ll be uploading and/or editing together over the next few days, but in the meantime…check out the video of Disarray below and let us know what you think!

We got a killer review on CultureMob today.  Thanks to Mike Showalter for the kind words!

“From the moment the first track Disarray hits your ears, Seattle’s Copper Kings grab with you some great pop hooks on their new CD, Hellos and Goodbyes, and don’t let up. It was perfect driving music as I headed up to the Skagit Valley over the weekend and I just let it play up and back.  It’s no surprise to me that they cite bands like the Wallflowers, Weezer and the Counting Crows as either influences or what they like themselves, because that’s the territory they’re in. That being said, two of my favorite tracks, Best Laid Plans and Am I Too Late, both surprisingly reminded me a bit of one of my go-to bands, Canadian alt-country group Blue Rodeo. For me, there wasn’t a weak track in the eclectic set.  Formed in 2008, the group is frontman & songwriter Phil Austin, drummer & backup vocalist Chris Villasenor, bassist Charlie Bendock and lead guitarist Max Keene, who was also co-producer (with Austin) and engineer for the CD. Produced and released on their own late last year, the CD is extremely polished and shines with the care they clearly took with the types of details that make music stand out.  You have more than one opportunity to catch them live in Seattle on the following dates. My guess is these guys could really rock in a live setting.”
