Bumbershoot?

Do YOU know anyone involved with booking for the Bumbershoot festival in Seattle? One of my dreams is to play the Mural Amphitheater at the Seattle Center! I can remember going and seeing bands there at Bumbershoot, Folklife and other festivals and events as a kid and loving it. I couldn’t tell you why, it’s just always held some sort of special appeal for me. We’ve submitted our electronic press kit through Sonicbids as requested, but any additional help getting us booked would be MUCH appreciated!! Thanks in advance!!

We’ve just lined up a show at the Comet Tavern in Seattle’s Capitol Hill on April 6th. Can you think of a better way to kick off spring than to share in an evening of great rawk with us? I don’t have all the details yet but will update this post soon.

The Copper Kings will be playing at the awesome Nectar Lounge in Fremont on February 23rd. Yes it’s a Tuesday night but it will be the most awesome Tuesday night you’ve had in a long time. Doors open at 8:00pm and the cover charge is only $3. We’ll be playing all the hits off of Hellos and Goodbyes including the song “Disarray” which is currently sweeping the nation’s radio stations…as well as a couple fun surprises. Will be playing with 2 other bands that night (TBD) so it should be a fun night of music! Come out and show your support for the Kings!

I received several reports yesterday and today showing upwards of 50 “spins” (plays) at several radio stations from Georgia to California and a few stops inbetween. Not too shabby for just the first few days of this run and we’ve gotten several commitments for next week! Should have some more interesting numbers soon…stay tuned!

Disarray to hit the radio Monday

It’s official. Disarray will begin it’s sweep of the nation’s 150+ secondary radio stations on Monday 2/1! We’ve been told the CD has been mailed out to all the stations and several have reported that they’ve already listened to it and are going to start giving it spins on Monday. We should get our first industry spin tracking report on Tuesday but should see better metrics by the report on the following Tues. We’ll keep you up to date so keep your fingers crossed for us and stay tuned! (Pun intended)

Well we finally got around to taking some official band photos! On Sunday we went down to Seattle’s beautiful Golden Gardens park for a nice backdrop and SandiV shot some pics of our mugs. Check them out and let us know what you think!

Today I learned of a great review of our album on http://absolutepowerpop.blogspot.com! Here’s a quote from the review “All I can say is give these Copper Kings a shot in the epic battle for control of your iPod.” Awesome. He also nailed the whole band name thing on the head. There’s a whole backstory there that I should probably have somewhere on the site! Anyway, if you get a chance, check out his blog. Steve reviews all kinds of great independent artists and there’s some really great music (and reviews) up there.

Great news! We’ve been approached by a well known radio promoter who has worked with the likes of REM, The Black Crowes, Green Day and more for a possible Top 40 radio campaign to take place in January 2010. We’re currently in talks with him and will report back in the next week or so when we have news. Stay tuned!
